Browser storage & local features

Your chosen light/dark setting is saved in local browser storage. It remains there until you delete the website’s browser data or change the setting. This website includes no tracking cookies or visitor analytics script.

The brief opening animation also uses an entry in the browser’s session storage (sessionStorage). It records that the animation has already been shown during the page session. The website does not transmit this entry; it is normally deleted when the tab session ends.

Search filters a public directory in your browser. The search term and category also appear in the URL so that a search can be revisited. Opening such a URL sends these parameters to the hosting service with the page request. Copy controls write selected text to the clipboard only when activated. Photos, fonts and audio versions are served through this website.

The SHA-256 demonstration processes entered text exclusively in your browser. This website neither transmits nor stores that input. Downloading a PDF requests the file from the hosting service like other website content.

The Project brief is also created exclusively in your browser. The website neither sends your entries to a server nor stores them permanently. You can copy the text or download it yourself. The email link opens your email application; the brief is not attached or sent automatically.

Making contact

The online form sends your name, email address and message, along with optional organisation and project details, to a dedicated LitusCMS installation. The enquiry stored there is automatically removed after 90 days. Gunter, my digital secretariat, retrieves the enquiry through read-only access and records it in the digital office on a separate server. Deletion in the CMS does not delete enquiries already transferred, subsequent correspondence or backups. These are retained as needed to handle and follow up on the enquiry and, where applicable, to meet statutory retention requirements. The CMS also processes technical request information to prevent misuse. There are no file uploads or automatic newsletter subscriptions.

When you make contact, the contact details and message you provide are used to address your request. Depending on the purpose, this prepares or fulfils an agreement (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), or serves the legitimate interest of answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Retention depends on the necessary handling and follow-up of the request and any applicable statutory retention duties.

Digital secretariat

Gunter helps organise enquiries and prepare replies. Contact details and message content may be processed through the OpenAI API for this purpose. Submitted content is treated as external information, not as instructions from me. Submitting a form does not trigger an automatic email reply.

Processing by OpenAI may take place outside the European Economic Area. Information about the available data controls and the provider’s retention practices is available in the OpenAI API documentation. To request access, correction or deletion, contact the secretariat at the email address above.
