Why I program

Programming is more than a profession: it is a way of thinking. The beauty of code and the joy of creating.

Code as a thinking tool

Programming has never been merely a means to an end for me. It forces clear thinking: questioning assumptions, breaking problems down and finding solutions that are both elegant and robust.

There is a moment when a complex problem suddenly reveals a simple solution. That moment drives me.

The beauty of reduction

Good code is like good prose: it says exactly what it means, no more. Every unnecessary line is noise. Every needless abstraction misrepresents the problem’s complexity.

“Perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.” — Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

This principle guides every project. The focus is not technology but the question: What is the simplest solution that works?

Programming fascinates me through its direct link between thought and effect. An idea in the morning can be a working product that evening. No other craft offers this speed of implementation.

Yet speed alone is not the point. It is about creating something that helps others: a tool simplifying a process, an enjoyable interface, a system reliably doing its job.

That is why I program.
